Design for fostering creativity in DiDIY

Designers can contribute to the development of makers’ creativity. In fact, in a world where everyone does design, professional designer have to find a new role to play. We envisage that they could lead, guide, provide scaffolds, or offer a clean slate to DiDIY practitioners, according to their level of interest and creativity *.

Working in design and communication since 2003, she has the opportunity to experience a variety of design contexts and challenges and develop a personal multifaceted approach to design and design research.

Organizations based upon DiDIY, characterized by a creative and innovative approach, will transform managers’ role both on the hard skills and the soft ones.

DiDIY is also about changing work practices, and the DiDIYer is a persona with an innovative mindset.

These six videos explore the culture and ethos of Digital DIY. Each video looks at a key aspect that emerged during the case study research, in terms of broad social impact and through the first-hand accounts of leading voices within the field. Interviewees were chosen to represent a cross-section of makers, innovators, entrepreneurs who are closely involved with DiDIY activities, creativity and creative platforms, both online and offline. The videos aim to provide insight and understanding of this emerging sector from the viewpoint of participants.
